Local nonprofit organization INTEMPO celebrated the grand opening of its new location in downtown Stamford on Monday.
State lawmakers said it felt great to help make the expansion possible.
“Having the opportunity to be able to bring this government funding down to an organization like
INTEMPO,” said State Rep. Hubert Delany. “It's the honor of a lifetime to know that this funding is getting here and these people are doing the good work."
“I'm so excited. This is our thirteenth year of doing this type of work and this is the first time we have a space of our own,” said Angelica Durrell, the founder and CEO of INTEMPO.
Officials said the facility on Franklin Street will join seven other nonprofits as tenants operating within the headquarters of Inspirica – whose mission is to help those with housing instability.
