Stamford police traded in coffee and donuts for pizza Friday.
The department held a pizza with police event at Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana.
People met officers and asked them questions while enjoying pizza.
Sgt. Michael Nguyen says events like this helps build trust and improve communication with residents.
He says the greater the communication, the easier it is for police to solve people's problems.
"Whether it's a sidewalk issue, whether it's illegal parking or there may be a drug dealer down the street that they want to get out of the neighborhood. If we don't know about it, you let us know and maybe we can do something about it," he says.
