Stamford officials pulled out all the stops this year for the annual UBS Parade Spectacular.
Residents say it's one of the city's biggest events of the year, and the kickoff to their Thanksgiving week.
Mario DeCarlo, a 90-year-old World War II, says he refuses to miss the parade because there's something new to see every year.
The parade featured 14 helium balloons, and organizers say about 200,000 people were there to enjoy it.
This year's balloons included well-loved children's characters like Daniel Tiger, Super Grover and the Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Ahead of the event, a balloon inflation party was held on Saturday.
