Tuesday marks the one-year anniversary of the nor?easter that swept across southwestern Connecticut, dumping almost seven inches of rain in 24 hours. One of the hardest hit areas in Stamford was Washington Court. Residents couldn?t walk or drive down the street and watched as many of their homes were flooded. Sebasthian Ahumada remembers not being able to walk or drive down his street. ?You couldn't do anything, I couldn't even walk out of my house,? says Ahumada. As a result of the floods, the city plans to remove a dam by this time next year. Once that happens, city officials say this type of flooding will be less likely to happen again.
