Part of Main Street in Stamford was closed Monday as crews worked to fix a gas leak.
Officials say it happened just after 9 a.m.
Firefighters temporarily evacuated a building as a precaution. They say everyone who had to evacuate has since been allowed back inside.
Officials say they are investigating the source of the leak. There is no word on when repairs will be completed.
