Two local softball teams are raising money for their trip to the Babe Ruth World Series at the end of the month. The 8U and 10U Stamford Stars softball teams are seeking financial assistance to travel to Florida so they can represent Connecticut on the national stage.
Bryan Fox is the vice president of the league. He says the mission of the Stamford Stars is to provide a low-cost option for every girl to play softball in the city.
"I have three daughters - All three have been to the world series. If you ask them about childhood, that's the first thing they will bring up is that trip. That's really what I'm hoping these girls get out of this: a childhood trip of a lifetime with their teammates," said Fox.
