Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County hosted its opening day Tuesday at the DOMUS building in Stamford, offering free clothes to students in need.
Eligible children can visit the nonprofit's store twice a year to pick out a week's worth of outfits.
"It's a fun boutique where children and families can shop on their own," said Jane Fogelson. "If they want some assistance, we have personal shoppers to guide them." Fogelson added, "This is the first week we're open, the phones have been ringing off the hook for appointments. So, we are seeing an anticipated greater demand. We have had greater demand each year."
The nonprofit will celebrate its ninth anniversary this October.
