The City of Stamford has transformed college dormitories into isolation housing for COVID-19 patients unable to self-isolate safely in their own homes.
Iman and Rashida Moriset say they never got to experience dorm life in college, but today, the two were part of a city-wide effort to utilize dorms to halt the spread of COVID-19.
Volunteers from Stamford Together readied beds, moved furniture, and sanitized more than 100 rooms.
The city hopes they can start moving people in starting Monday.
COVID-19 patients wishing to apply for isolation housing must be Stamford residents, have a note from a medical professional and be cleared by the city's Department of Public Health.
