The Stamford Veterans Resource Center (VRC) hosted a veterans appreciation Thanksgiving lunch on Monday.
It was held at the government center.
Mayor Caroline Simmons and other elected officials served classic Thanksgiving food like mashed potatoes, turkey and stuffing.
Carmen Hughes, VRC director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, said the lunch honored the work veterans have done and continue to do for the country and the city of Stamford.
“There is just so much that we need to do for our veterans, and having the honor to work at the resource center and really get to know and understand all their needs and recognize that we don't do enough for our veterans. This is the least we could do to say thank you today and thank you everyday,” said Hughes.
The lunch was hosted by the VRC and the American Legion.
