State lawmakers on Tuesday headed to Hartford for a special session called by the governor to adjust the state budget.
Gov. Dannel Malloy says the state needs to close a $350 million deficit caused by a shortfall in state investments and other revenue.
The plan being considered makes about $200 million in reductions, but also restores money earmarked for hospitals and social service agencies that had been taken out by Malloy.
