Though many people had Labor Day off, state troopers were working to make sure drivers were safe for the busy holiday weekend.
State police say they have seen a lot of accidents over the past few days, mostly due to speeding or tailgating, but they were ready for the holiday weekend.
Troopers say it's one of several weekends, along with Memorial Day and July 4, that extra officers are out on patrol.
Several troopers worked overtime this weekend, with an emphasis on DWI enforcement. Some troopers stopped on the side of the road and looked for drivers breaking the law, while others drove along with traffic.
They are trained on what to look for, namely drivers who are either speeding or failing to stay in their lane.
