HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut State Police have responded to more than 200 accidents so far during the Thanksgiving holiday, including one fatal accident.
State Police say they've also issued more than 1,000 tickets for motor vehicle infractions, including 322 tickets for speeding offenses and 161 for seal belt violations, as of Saturday morning.
And officers made 16 arrests for driving under the influence and received more than 5,000 calls for service.
The fatality occurred Thanksgiving Day.
A man in his mid-20s was killed after his car crashed into the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport Thursday afternoon.
The driver, who police have not yet identified, was trapped under vehicle, which rolled over several times and caught fire.
No events had been scheduled at the time at the 10,000-seat arena.
