10h ago State Rep. Maryam Khan has released a statement for the first time since she was attacked last month outside of an Eid gathering.
In a statement, Khan says the incident has taken its toll on herself and her family.
"I am immensely grateful to the courageous men who came to my aid and helped apprehend the attacker until the police arrived," Khan said in a statement. "I am on a long journey of physical and emotional healing and I ask for your grace during this time."
Khan says she plans to speak more about this publicly Thursday at 12 p.m.
