Home improvement contractors in the state could soon be required to have liability insurance. 
The House passed a bill yesterday requiring contractors with a gross income of $30,000 or more to have liability insurance coverage worth at least $500,000.
It also requires those who make less than $30,000 to have coverage worth at least $100,000.
The bill now goes to the Senate.
