A Connecticut State Police trooper from Norwalk has died after a battle with Sept. 11-related cancer.
Walter Greene served as a state trooper for 27 years and thoroughly enjoyed training other officers to become police motorcycle operators. He served as a Marine before becoming a state trooper.
The rare form of cancer Greene suffered from was a result of his service after the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
Gov. Dannel Malloy ordered flags at half-staff Friday in honor of Greene.
