There are some job cuts coming to Stew Leonard’s in Norwalk.
Stew Leonard Jr. says they are eliminating about a dozen administrative jobs in an effort to control costs and to modernize.
A separate group of workers has been offered positions at a new store that’s opening in Paramus, New Jersey.
Leonard says some positions will be left vacant after workers retire while other will receive severance packages.
“You know for a family business, you have to run it like a business,” says Leonard. “There are just some jobs we don't need anymore. More backroom, than in the store, we just have to be lean.”
Leonard added that none of the people who costumers see day to day in the store are being let go in Norwalk.
