StoneWood condo residents missing home for the holidays year after fire

For tenants of the StoneWood Condominiums in Norwalk, the passage of a year hasn’t brought them back to their homes in time for the holidays.
A massive fire broke out inside the condos on Richard's Avenue on Dec. 11, 2017.
More than 50 condos were left vacant for months as the building continues to undergo demolition and renovations.
Investigators say a lit cigarette discarded in a plastic pale was later determined to be the cause of the fire.
In a letter to owners of the StoneWood Condominiums, the association wrote, "As we approach the anniversary of the fire, we look back at a year that has been challenging, yet during which time an extensive amount of work has been completed, an astounding number of important steps made and numerous road blocks resolved."
The property management company says the building is expected be back open and occupied by July, 2019.
