Thieves stole almost $50,000 in cash and cellphones from a wireless store on Fordham Road over the weekend, police say.
The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. on Friday, April 22, when two men wearing hoodies were recorded on surveillance video walking into the wireless shop and taking out bags of cash and phones.
Mo Schalouh, the store's owner, says police came to look at the video and to take fingerprints off of the safe. Schalouh says he recognized the clothes the two burglars were wearing and found one of their green cards next to the safe on the floor.
He is hopeful that authorities can catch the suspects and get his money back.
Now Schalouh has made changes in the store's security, including the ways employees get into the store and how they lock the store up.
This has been the first incident for the wireless store in nine years.
