Big changes are coming to Union Station in New Haven.
The state and the city of New Haven signed a deal to revamp all three floors of Union Station, including the basement.
New retail stores will be coming to the station along with improvements to stairs, elevators and escalators. That is just for the inside. There are even bigger plans for outside.
"Some additional restaurants. There's talk of boutique hotels and all that. All those things are on the table as we look to go and make this a desirable opportunity for investors to come in here and make investments," said Joe Giulietti, Connecticut Transportation commissioner.
The mayor says they might even build a pedestrian walkway over the railroad tracks.
