Stratford is still cleaning up from a storm that toppled trees, bent flagpoles and moved boats last Thursday.
Mayor Jim Miron says the town?s public works department is offering a free pick-up service to help the community tidy up.
According to the mayor, the damage in certain areas was very severe. ?It was a tremendous storm,? Miron says. ?It cost the town significant money. We are still trying to assess that because we are still in cleanup mode.?
Residents have been clearing off their properties since the storm hit. To help the process move along more smoothly, Miron is asking residents to bag all leaves and bundle branches together before leaving the debris at the curb.
