Storms ripped through parts of western Connecticut Thursday and caused some significant damage, including a tree that fell on a Milford home.
Melissa and Ryan Crowley say a huge oak tree was uprooted in their backyard around 4:30 p.m. and fell on their house, located at 67 Linden St. They say they just had their roof finished before the storm tore through the area.
The couple, Melissa's son Jacob and their dog and two cats got out safely with the help of the mailman.
They say it's going to be while before the tree and debris are cleared away.
In the meantime, the family will be staying with Melissa's mother down the street.
