Last week was all about the warmth and pollen, but this week is all about the rain.
Two separate systems will keep most of the week gray and damp. With the steadier rain tonight, there is a greater risk of flooding and another 1-3 inches of rain is possible. The NWS has issued a flood watch for Litchfield County.
The excessive rain will run into smaller streams and creeks and then eventually the larger rivers. Street flooding is possible anywhere in Litchfield or Fairfield counties tonight.
Tomorrow's forecast will be cloudy with pockets of steadier rain and even a few non-severe thunderstorms. Temperatures however, stay pretty moderate with not much change from day to night until Thursday, when some 70s make a comeback.
The rain becomes more scattered on Wednesday but could finish with a few thunderstorms with heavier downpours. This system clears by Thursday, and that's when we'll finally catch a break - but another storm system will move through for Friday.
So far the weekend looks good, with Sunday being the better and warmer day of the two for Mother's Day.
TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy, showers and a few thunderstorms. High 63 degrees.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy, scattered showers and thunderstorms. High 68 degrees.
THURSDAY: Partly sunny. High 70 degrees.
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy, showers and thunderstorms. High 60 degrees.
SATURDAY: Early clouds, mostly sunny. High 65 degrees.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny High 71 degrees.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny. High 72 degrees.
