ALERTS: Wind advisory 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday
Today is a day of change, well more so tonight. Lots of cold sunshine before clouds move in. Highs will be in the upper 30s, with maybe a 40 reading here or there.
Tonight, an approaching storm system is expected to bring rain that will mix with snow overnight into Thursday morning. Snow accumulations are not likely, but some areas especially in Litchfield County could see more than just a coating of snowfall.
For Thursday morning, definitely give yourself extra time in the morning in case you need to clear off a walkway and or your car. Be cautious on the roads, for those could be slippery during the morning commute. As the system moves out, winds will howl behind it. Gusts near 45 mph and sustained winds of 20-25 mph are expected throughout Thursday. If you have any holiday decorations that are loose or outside, definitely take the time to tie those down or bring them indoors.
It will be a cold and breezy weekend, but the winds will weaken by Saturday. Plenty of sunshine and dry weather with a gradual warm-up by Sunday.
