STORM WATCH: Heat and humidity climb, severe weather threat increases for Thursday

FORECAST:
A warm front has been struggling to climb farther north but is expected to move through by tonight. Look for showers or a few storms tonight with fog. Visibility will be reduced into tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow will be the hottest day of this week before even more heat and humidity build early next week.
The feels-like temperatures will approach the mid-90s. The air temperature will range from the upper-80s to near 90 degrees. The winds will pick up out of the southwest to 10-15 mph.
A sharp cold front will move through at night. Out ahead of it during the early evening hours will be several strong to severe thunderstorms. Damaging winds are the main threat. Secondary threats include large hail and even potentially a stray tornado.
Stay weather aware, as conditions could change quickly late in the day for Thursday.
Once the front comes through, temperatures will drop slightly going into Friday and Saturday. It will still be quite hot, just not as humid.
The excessive heat returns next week with a potential heat wave. Temperatures will hit the 90s, but the heat index could approach 100 degrees.
