Depending on how far up this freezing rain and mixing line comes in, it could potentially impact totals and we could receive lesser amounts of snow. Regardless, it starts as snow and is a mainly snow event with some freezing rain and icing mixed in too. The rain component of this stays mainly to the south of us as of now. Avoid traveling overnight.
The one good thing about this storm: very low wind. There shouldn't be additional complications from blowing snow. The visibility will be problematic in the heaviest snow bands. This should be out of the way by mid-morning Sunday.
Sunday will be a decent day for cleaning up after this. Expect to need to shovel, clear cars and driveways, and please don't be the person who drives with snow on their car. It's dangerous and takes only a few minutes to clear off and prevent accidents.
The winter storm warning continues until 11 am Sunday.
There are several more opportunities for winter weather in the upcoming week. All of these will be impacted by this storm. Keep an eye on the ever-evolving forecast as each one impacts the next one.
