Now we want to see what's happening over in Rockland County. So let's check in with Diane Cruz. So she's in West Night, Diane. Has it looking by you. Good morning, Lisa. It's looking like a lot of snow in Rockland County. It's been coming down for a couple hours at this point. I woke up at around 2 a.m. looked out my window and I already saw it coming down a couple, you know, at 2 a.m. this morning. So it's, it's starting to stick to everything here. There's some of our local flow drugs show us some love this morning while they're out here trying to clear things up. This snow is making everything a sticky sloppy mess, especially the roads we are in West Nyack near West Nyack Road and route 304. And as you saw there, we've been seeing plow trucks of all shapes and sizes making their way through trying to take care of what Mother Nature is serving us this morning. And as a reminder, do not crowd the plows, give them enough space to do their job and clear the road ahead or better yet. Just stay home orange and Rockland says they've brought in more overhead line crews to respond to the possible outages that could happen from the storms, heavy wet snows and winds. The utility says they have brought in 200 additional mutual aid workers to respond to the field, uh to respond in the field if need be right. But for this morning, we're on snow patrol, keeping an eyes on the roads so you can stay at home. We'll send it back to the studio.

Coming to you from a very snowy Rockland County here in West Nyack where the snow has just been relentless since very early this morning. When I woke up at two ami saw it coming down outside my window. We're in west near West Nyack road and route three or four, some major roads. People using the county to get around a slushy sloppy mess. My carina, my f kin kind of showing what exactly our roads are looking like right now. Can't see much road at all. Just a lot of snow, but there are plows of all shapes and sizes out on the roads. There's one car taking it slow there going through and the plows are out trying to take care of this, what Mother Nature is giving us this morning. And as a reminder, do not crowd the plows, let them do their jobs, do not try to pass them. Um They're just trying to make the roads better for everyone. Uh My photographer Karina did take some video this morning that we're going to show you of her commute from Westchester County into Rockland. Um, and my photographer, Karina said that she saw the conditions get much worse. Um, on her, her ride this morning as she entered Rockland County, um, the roadways uh looked better in those high traffic portion portions. Otherwise the roads still had a bit of snow accumulating. Now here in West Nyack Orange and Rockland says they are bringing in additional workers to handle any potential outages that may happen because of the storm's heavy wet snow and winds. Good morning, Lisa from very snowy Rockland County where the snow has just been relentless the last couple of hours. But at this moment, it also feels like there's a little bit of a mixture in the air because I'm getting pelted earlier in the morning. I just felt that nice soft snow. But as I've been standing here in Nanuet, it's feeling a little bit more heavy and I'm feeling a little bit more of a bite to it. Now we are in Nanuet near route 59. A very busy and major artery folks rely on here in the county to get around. There have been a number of state dot trucks taking care of the roads and there's one right there ready to go through the intersection as we speak, the roads here still have a little bit of snow built up on them. But there are some, there is some we're seeing as they, as they go through this area clearing the way for drivers. Um, my photographer Karina took some video this morning of her commute in from Westchester County and, and her ride, as she described it to me, she really saw those conditions worsen as she got into Rockland County and saw the roads, um, happened the same way as she got into Rockland. They got worse. Um, now here in, uh, Nanuet, we're gonna take a look at just how much snow we've gotten so far. Um, I'm gonna take a big old step and we're gonna see just what it's like a couple hours into it. Um, so about a couple inches already, a couple, a couple hours into the storm and, uh, it's still coming. So we'll be out here on snow patrol, keeping an eye on the roads so you can stay home safe and warm. We'll send it back to the studio.

Good morning, Lisa there. Things in N are just like they were in West Nyack where we were this morning. Very snowy wind has been picking up on and off since we've been here getting pelted with a little bit of a wintry mix at times too. But things are getting clear. The plows are out. They're taking care of the roads. We're in n you up by route 59 2 state dot Trucks just came through and real did a great job to clear up a chunk of this. What was once very slushy roads. My f Karina can show you a lot more black top here now, still some snow. But those two state do state dot plow trucks really came through and cleared up a lot of the slush and did a good job at that. We've seen a ton of the plow trucks, all shapes and sizes coming through here trying to take care of things in Rockland, um, this morning. Uh, meantime, um, we're out taking a look at the roads and I'm gonna have my, uh, photographer C to come back to me to kind of show you, uh, just what this little snow pile looked like that we stepped in before, uh, how there's now some fresh snow starting to already fill in that hole that we showed you just how high the snow has gotten a couple inches. So the snow is still falling and we're still out here and we'll be out here, we'll send it back to the studio.

I'll show you some of those street conditions for more on that news. Twelve's Diane Caruso is out and about in Rockland County and now you wet right now with the latest on conditions there and clearly you can see not only the snow coming down where you are Diane, but also those roads a bit covered and sloppy too. Good morning, Matt. That is right. You're seeing it 100% accurately through that lens. A very snow covered Rockland County where the conditions have just been relentless, getting some love from our local plow trucks out, working hard this morning to make things better for our drivers. We're on route 59 in Nanuet. A very busy important roadway rockers rely on every day to get to and from across the county from Nyack to Spring Valley. My photographer showing you the roads there. Drivers have been taking it very slow. We've even seen some people putting their hazards on and we've seen a number of dot Trucks coming through to clear things up as well. So far we haven't been hearing of any issues, knock on wood. Let's keep it that way. Stay home as you can. See, it's not anything you want to be out driving in at all at this time, let the plows do their job things and we'll be here keeping an eye on what it is like outside. In the meantime, though, uh, my photographer Corina is just gonna show you how much the snow is starting to build and, and accumulate here in Rockland, we got a couple of inches. It's past past my ankles at this, at this point, get another fresh snow pile there for you to look at. Um, so the snow is relentless. Good morning, Lisa. I'm on the Nanuet New City border at this point of the day. Uh, by the commu uh commuter lot on, on North Middletown road, people in this area will definitely know about it. Um And I wanna show you what the roads, the side roads are kind of looking like. We, we just had a county plow truck, uh, come through and you can see what a difference it made in, in that quick uh, uh job it did as it, as it came over the road here. Um One road still very snow covered the other side. What that was just taken care of still has some snow and slush but not as bad as what these other drivers like this. Uh UV is, is now dealing with. Um, we were on our way up here, we took some video that we're going to show you of the Palisades Interstate Parkway. A road. Many people rely on to just not even get around the county but around the state, you know, up to orange, down into the city, um, roads there really? Uh The Palisades is not looking very good despite, um, what looked like the plow trucks trying to clear it. Um, you can see just how, uh, snowy it is and just how bad the Palisades Interstate Parkway is at this point, despite those plow trucks again, looking like you can see it cleared a path, at least for one of those lanes and still very messy. We were driving about 30 MPH and so were many of the other cars that's way below the 55 mile an hour speed limit there just because of, of what the, uh, road conditions are, are calling for. Um, we're out on the roads on snow patrol, keeping an eye on things so you can stay warm and stay inside. We'll send it back to the studio.

Uh, right by the commuter parking lot on North Middletown Road where the snow has been relentless all morning since I woke up at 2 a.m. It has not stopped coming down. Um And as hard as our cloud trucks, we've been seeing, uh go to work to try to clear things. They're, they're doing their best, but mother nature is relentless and she is sticking to the ground no matter how hard these guys are working out on the roads this morning. We also have some video to show you of the Palisades Interstate Parkway that we took on our cell phones heading north. We will show you that video of our trip from the West Nyack area up to New City. Just how snow covered the Palisades is, which is an important road, not just to get around Rockland County, but to really get up north out of the county to either Orange County and beyond or down into the city. So it's a very important road commuters, many commuters use every day. We also have another update for folks at home to know about. We got an alert that the Rockland trips para transit service has done, laid their pickups until 9 a.m. this morning. So, although if, if you rely on that to get around it, it won't be coming to pick you up until uh, 9 a.m. That's the latest we have for you. If we have any more updates regarding that or anything else, we'll be sure to let you know. But so far knock on wood, no major problems on the roads. Check in with Diane Diane Cruz, who she's been in Rockland County all morning and I know you're in, uh, in Pomona now, Lisa. That's right. I'm up in Pomona, uh just taking a drive around the county to see what it looks like all over Rockland. Still snow. Uh We're in this town of Havisha commuter lot, uh near state route 45 in an intersection with 202. just an absolute slushy mess still up here. Um Not much different than what we saw in the central part of the county in New City and, and nue. Um, so still a mess of, of what folks are dealing with here and we took the Palisades Interstate Parkway to get here again. As I've been saying, it's a very popular road for those who know. Uh And on our right up here we saw someone who actually happened to slide off the road and there was AAA police car there kind of blocking it off to make sure things were ok. The car didn't look too badly damaged, but that driver boy I'm sure was, was quite terrified of, uh, of what they dealt with. Um, this morning, uh, because of the road conditions, um, ourselves, even on the Palisades, we weren't going more than 30 miles an hour, maybe 25 at most. Um, and there was just a line of cars behind of al also going very slow. Might I add? Um, so the same phrase we've been reiterating all morning, the roads are a mess. The snow isn't stopping. So stay home and wait until this dies down a bit and the plow trucks clear things up. Meantime, for those Rockland residents who rely on the trips. Paratransit bus service, uh we do have updates for you. That service will not be conducting any pickups until 9 a.m. today. So all those rides before 9 a.m. are not happening per transit service will happen back up at 9 a.m. That's the latest we in Pomona Diane Crusoe News 12.

Good morning, Lisa. Well, not much has changed since we last spoke in. The snow is relentless. It hasn't stopped since very early this morning. And as a result, it's making a mess of things in all of rock and where we are, we're in promoted now in the town of have a area near Route 45 and 202. My photographer Corina will show you what the drivers here are dealing with, which is just a me sure, you can see more of a black top but doesn't mean this is prime driving conditions. Um, very slushy, uh, messy, messy stuff our, our folks are dealing with here on the roads. Uh So I have seen the plows still coming through, uh, throwing the salt down, clearing the way. But, um, at this point there that the roads are still pretty messy on the way up here from, uh, the Nanu at uh West ni area. We're going to show you some video we took of the Palisades Interstate Parkway, um, that showed a car that actually ended up off the road there. Um, doesn't look like it was a very serious accident, but boy was that uh, must have been very frightening for that person who, who was driving the car. Um, on the Palisades there. It's a, it's a mess, it's a mess. It's a mess. It's all I can really describe to you at home is as to what we're seeing, uh, morning long here in Rockland. Um, now as for the totals, the snow is building up. It's about shin height almost to my knees here. And when I tried to take a depth, look at how much snow is up. Actually on this bush, it actually created AAA, nice little cross section to show you just about a hand's length of snow. So couple, uh, a couple inches deep here o of snow in Rockland and it's still coming. So only knows how much more is gonna build up. We'll be out here. We're in promoted Diane Crusoe. He's 12.

Diane, how it looking by you. It is looking like a complete white out almost in here in Pomona. Things have gotten much worse since we were here last hour. Um, still in Pomona near route 45 and the 22 intersection cars have been moving at a snail's pace and my f kin can show you why because the roads, we used to be able to see black top. Not anymore. It's very, very snowy, not too much, uh slush a lot of snow. Um And that we, we've been sitting in this parking lot talking to some of those folks who are going out in the snow who have to go out in the snow, like those private uh snow plow, uh businesses and one gentleman who said he started his day very early today has done a couple dozen uh uh driveways and other other spots today, clearing it from snow. Here's what he wants to tell people about what it's like outside. Oh, right now they are very bad. The conditions are very bad. If everybody can stay home, it will be better to stay home otherwise, you know, it's going to be a risk now don't just take it from him. The conditions have gotten so bad that the Rockland trips per transit service has canceled their service bus service today for folks in the county. So if you use that, just know that is not going to be an option because of just how bad these conditions are here in Rockland. Meantime, my colleague Gomez is in Monroe up in Orange County is going to let us know what it's like up there. What can you say?

We said not at all. In fact, things have gotten even more troublesome for us here in Rockland County. At least for me and my teammate Corina. We've been driving around Rockland where a new new city now near that Clarks Town border line on the new HTE road area, right off the Palisades interstate parkway. That again is just a mes, we have video show you of what we took and what we saw on our way down here from the Pomona area, there was a car that was stranded on the Palisades. It had its hazard lights on and as we pulled up, we saw it just wasn't going anywhere. It looked like it, it, it just was having massive amounts of problems on the Palisades. And that's not including the other video we've been showing you this morning of a car that actually slid off the Palisades northbound. And as we were headed to Pomona from West Nyack earlier today, um we, we spoke to some drivers who were out there and this is what one young man had to say about what it's like, stay safe, drive safe, always prepare, get gas before and make sure your tres are heavier and everything and just, just be safe. He really wants to reiterate that because we've seen some tough things out here this morning with those drivers having a, having a troublesome troublesome time on the road. Um, now again, as we, we reminded you earlier, for those folks who were relying on the, uh, Rockland para trips, transit bus service that has been canceled today because of what Mother Nature is serving us at the moment. Um We're gonna check in with, uh Blaise Gomez who was up in Monroe Blaise.

Hey there, Lisa, things here in Rockland look much better. The snow is basically stopped after relentlessly falling here in Rockland since 2 a.m. when I woke up to start bringing you all the conditions this morning. Much different here than what we've been seeing throughout the morning of our coverage. We have video to show you of that some videos we took of some stranded and motorist dealing with the conditions on the Palisades Interstate Parkway. Um There was another driver who actually slid off the road at one point that we came across, um who was, um, you know, being safely marked by a police vehicle. Um, but the roads were a mess and they still are very slushy. Um, at this point, um, we spoke to some of the drivers out and about this morning and this is what they wanted to say to you guys at home. Stay safe, drive safe, always prepare, get gas before, make sure your tires are heavier and everything and just, just be safe right now. They are very bad. The conditions are very bad. If everybody can stay home, it will be better to stay home otherwise, you know, it's going to be a risk. The snow has stopped but the slush still remains, especially here in Baron on Baron Road, near three or four and clean up will have to start for some folks, especially these major roads.
