Connecticut is one step closer to raising the smoking age to 21.
The move would also apply to vaping products. It would require someone over 21 to sign for online vaping purchases and show ID when it arrives.
The bill would not ban e-cigarette flavors. While health advocates pushed for that, companies like Juul say they have already taken measures to curb abuse by children.
The bill would also more than double the annual registration fee for vaping dealers. The bill now heads to the full General Assembly.
