Toll proposal includes new train station for Bridgeport

Gov. Ned Lamont's toll plan includes proposals for new train stations in Hartford, Newington and Bridgeport.
The governor's proposal would order the Transportation Department to build a second train station in Bridgeport. Proponents say it could revitalize the city's crumbling East Side.
Nearby residents say if it brings jobs to the neighborhood, they're willing to pay the tolls.
State Republicans are firing back at the proposal, saying the train station is just being used to bring Bridgeport representatives to the table.
Neighbors also say it's important to keep some of the area's historic landmarks.
