A glider plane lost power and crashed through a home in Danbury while making an emergency landing, officials say.
The incident happened Tuesday on Golden Hill Avenue before 6 p.m.
Officials say the 2016 ‘Alisport Silent 2 Electro’ lost power and was forced to make an emergency landing before crashing through the roof of a house.
A mother and her two daughters were inside of the house at the time of the crash but were not injured.
A single pilot was inside of the plane at the time of the incident and was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Officials say the plane had taken off from Danbury Municipal Airport around 12 p.m.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating what caused the incident.
Once the FAA is done evaluating the scene they say the plane will be removed.
Investigators say a rocket containing a parachute intended to be used in case of an emergency landing was not deployed and must be removed from the plane before the plane can be removed from the roof.
