A total of $1.6 million was donated during Thursday's 24-hour Giving Day in Fairfield County.

Fairfield County’s Community Foundation says more than 12,000 donors contributed to help 400 different community groups and organizations.

The theater arts organization, Curtain Call, received the most donations. More than 1,300 people pledge $131,000 for the group.

Curtain Call supporters were rewarded by Hearst Media, which offered a $20,000 bonus to the organization with the most pledges.
