A Bridgeport man was arrested in connection to the death of a missing 14-year-old boy.
Diante Willoughby, 20, was arrested and arraigned in court Thursday.
Willoughby is accused of killing 14-year-old Jose Nunez, of Bridgeport.
Nunez's parents says their son was strangled to death on Tuesday, and his body was found in the town of Oxford. An autopsy confirmed that his death was due to strangulation.
Nunez had just graduated from Barnum School and was looking forward to beginning high school in the fall.
"I want everybody to watch their kids because this is the worst pain anybody could ever go through," says Carmen, Nunez's mom. "I just want my son back, it can't happen."
They say the suspect had contacted their son on Snapchat in the past.
"Please don't allow your kids to have Snapchat because that's how I couldn't prove anything," says Higinio Campos, Nunez's father. "Please get off of social media. The kids don't need it, the young kids wait until they're 18 at least. They're not going to make the right decisions."
Authorities says Willoughby was part of the city's Police Explorer Program, a youth initiative that gives kids a chance to learn about law enforcement. They say he had no criminal record.
Willoughby is being held on $2 million bond.
