Stratford held its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony Wednesday night.

The tree lighting took place on the Town Hall Green.

Highlights of the festival included performances by the Bunnell High School Brass Ensemble and the Chapel Street School Choir.

Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived on a fire truck signaling the start of the holiday season for the town.

Organizers say the event highlights what the town is all about.
