A doctor from Stratford captured photographs of a rare white squirrel outside his office over the weekend.
Dr. Gary Blick, who is also an avid outdoor photographer, says he was shocked when he spotted the rare rodent.
"Grey squirrels – about one in 100,000 times – come in an albino or white color,” he said.
White squirrels have their rare color due to "a genetic anomaly caused by a mutated gene,” according to Blick. They are considered easy prey for predators because they stand out in their habitat and tend to live short lives.
The doctor also says the animals are believed to bring good luck.
"My life has been in a lot of chaos recently with my mother's health and my house being under construction and this gave me chills. This is good luck and I really need good luck right now,” he said.
