The town of Stratford voted against a proposal Monday to fine people for wearing their pants too low.
A Stratford councilman wants young people in town to pull up their pants, and stop wearing their waistlines below their buttocks. Councilman Alvin O'Neal came up with a plan to fine those caught with their pants too far down $250.
O'Neal said he came up with the plan after some elderly residents complained about young people wearing their pants so low, their waistlines start where their backsides end and their undergarments are exposed for all to see.
"I'm thinking about doing it under the indecency exposure laws...because you can't parade around town...nude,? said O?Neal.
