Stratford honored the start of Hispanic Heritage Month today with a ceremony at the Town Hall Green.
Mayor Laura Hoydick and members of the Stratford Hispanic Heritage Committee held the ceremony where the Flag of the Hispanicity was raised.
Hoydick also proclaimed today through Oct. 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month.
The 30-day period celebrates the histories, cultures and contributions of Americans whose ancestry comes from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
