Stratford police announced two major drug busts Wednesday, and they happened near a school and a day care center.
"These are hitting the suppliers, the mid-level suppliers at least," says Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti. "So it's a lot better than going after the street-level, because we're actually getting the supply houses."
Stratford police say they worked with their Bridgeport counterparts to shut down a drug factory 1,500 feet away from the school in the Park City. They arrested Christopher Andujar and Angel Santiago for allegedly supplying heroin and cocaine to street-level dealers in Bridgeport and Stratford.
Separately, Stratford police say they seized heroin and stolen handguns from a Success Avenue home, where they arrested George Siler, 27. He is currently on probation for an armed robbery in Shelton, and now he faces new charges of operating a drug factory within 1,500 feet of a day care center.
Siler's girlfriend says the couple is expecting a baby and that he didn't sell drugs.
"My boyfriend was set up," she says.
Siler is being held on $250,000 bond. He's due back in court Tuesday.
