Even though Stratford may not yet have a budget, it doesn't mean tax bills won't go out.
The mayor says the tax bills are part of a statute that can be issued to avoid a town shutdown.
According to the town's website, the tax bills are being mailed to residents and are due for payment by Aug. 15.
The website also say that if the Town Council adopts a budget prior to Dec. 1, an adjustment will be made on the second half of the payment that is due in January.
