Police say a man was hit by a train Friday night in Stratford, making for the third death in the past four months on the same stretch of tracks.
The 49-year-old Fairfield man was found in almost the same spot as another victim who died in April. Two others have also died crossing the tracks.
Evelyn Hernandez, sister of the man who died in April, says she wants to know why barriers have not been put up to stop people from running across the open tracks. She says it seems that nothing has been done about the problem, despite the fact that three people have died.
Signs were placed at the tracks in May warning people not to cross, but Mayor Jim Miron says more needs to be done.
?It's time for Metro-North and CDOT to step up and put the barriers here so that no one gets hurt again and particularly a child,? he said.
