A Stratford woman suffering a rare disease says she needs the gift of life.
Debra Gampel, 65, suffers from a protein disorder that destroyed her kidneys one year ago. It's one of the rarest conditions known to medical science.
Though Gampel has an identical twin sister, her sister can't be a kidney donor because she has a condition that rules her out.
That leaves both sisters on a crusade right now to find somebody who can be an organ donor and a life saver.
The sisters are hoping that somebody who sees this report from News 12 Connecticut will be willing to step up and give the gift of life.
