New data from the FBI shows that violent crime has hit a 50-year low in Connecticut.
Researchers found that there were about 8,500 violent crimes reported last year.
That's down nearly 10 percent from 2013.
Nationally, the violent crime rate dropped by only .1 percent.
The governor is crediting police, reforms in the criminal justice system and new efforts to reduce drug addiction.
