FORECAST:
Temperatures will feel like late summer. However, it won't be like the record-breaking temperatures from Tuesday. Danbury Municipal Airport broke a temperature record with a high of 85. The record had been 77 from 2017. Bridgeport tied a record with a high temperature of 77.
We'll have a mostly sunny sky throughout the day.
The combination of moderate gusts, exceptionally low humidity, dry conditions and plenty of sunshine increases our fire risk for today.
Burning outside is not recommended. A red flag warning is in effect from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday. Otherwise, it will be pleasant, with highs in the low- to mid-70s.
Temperatures will fall into the 60s and 50s Wednesday evening. A weak cold front will increase clouds overnight. Rain showers are not ruled out. However, usually "dry breeds dry" in this situation since the cold front is weak. If anywhere, Litchfield County gets a weak rain shower from 1 a.m.-6 a.m. Lows will be in the 50s.
A better opportunity for much-needed rain will come Saturday morning. However, the chances of rain falling will still be under 50%. If it does rain, it will be light, under 0.10 inches. That will not quell any drought concerns. The weekend will be remembered as a mostly sunny one. Highs will be well into the 60s Saturday. However, northerly winds will push highs down in to the 50s Sunday.
No organized rain is likely through the end of the month (next Thursday). Assuming no rain Thursday or Saturday, that will be a 24-day stretch without rain come Halloween.
CLIMATE: Bridgeport normal temps: 62/46: Bridgeport normal temps: 62/46.
Today: Highs in the low-70s, lows in the 50s.
THURSDAY: Highs in the mid-60s, lows in the low-40s. A much more fall-like day!
FRIDAY: Highs in the low-60s, lows in the low-40s.
THE WEEKEND: Highs in the high-50s and low- to mid-60s, lows in the mid-30s to low-40s. There is a quick chance of rain Saturday, but it will not assist much in busting our dry conditions.
