Storm Watch: Flood watch issued with Connecticut expected to see heavy rainfall to finish September

WEATHER ALERT: A flood watch will be in effect for parts of the state from Friday morning through Friday evening.
NOW & NEW: News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Steve Teeling says we may see a few scattered showers early tonight, but the heavier rain will develop in the early hours of the morning. Rain could be heavy at times toward dawn. Friday will be a very wet and nasty day, with heavy rain and localized flooding likely. Flash flooding cannot be ruled out tomorrow into Saturday morning. Most of us will see 1-3 inches of rain, but there is the potential for 2-4+ inches of rainfall by Saturday morning.
NEXT: Saturday will start with some rain and showers, but skies clear out during the afternoon. A nice stretch of weather will be with us Sunday through next week with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the 70s.
OVERNIGHT: Cloudy with rain developing late, heavy at times. Low of 55.
FRIDAY: Cloudy with rain, heavy at times. High of 63.
SATURDAY: Morning rain and showers give way to partly sunny skies in the afternoon. High of 68.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and milder. High of 74.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny and warmer. High of 76.
