Bridgeport officials have shut down the Sunshine Deli in an attempt to curb crime.
Violent crime at the Sunshine Deli has been an ongoing concern. Last summer, a man was shot and killed while he was sitting in a car nearby.
The deli also had numerous health concerns. The Health Department made the call to shut the deli down.
News 12 asked workers how they felt about the deli closing, but they declined to comment.
Some communities have laws allowing businesses to be shut down after a string of violent crimes, but Bridgeport does not currently have that type of ordinance. The mayor said he will be looking at what kind of policies might be helpful.
