Health officials are warning residents about recent cases of swimmer’s itch in Greenwich waters.

The rash is caused by an allergic reaction to microscopic parasites that come from snails.

Symptoms include tingling or burning skin, small reddish pimples and possibly small blisters.

Officials say most cases heal on their own, but scratching can lead to infection.
