Anyway you slice it, Connecticut is the
pizza capital of the U.S. And with New York and New Haven battling it out, News 12 Connecticut decided to do a little taste test of our own.
First stop: Fairfield.
Nauti Dolphin has been the upper crust below the tracks since 1999. Their specialties are the Spicy Sow and the Commuter, but they also bake up a delicious clams casino pie.
Next stop:
Renato's New Haven Style Pizza in Westport. Renato's is a bit newer to the pie scene, but this brick oven pizzeria bakes up pies to New Haven-style perfection. Specialties include the Firecracker and the Frank Sinatra.
Our final Stop:
Roseland Pizza in Derby. This iconic gathering spot has been baking up "abeetz" for 90 years. Signature toppings, such as homemade sausage and freshly-sliced vegetables, make a perfect pizza to remember.
