A 16-year-old boy was injured Tuesday morning after he tried to stop a gunman from entering his home.
According to investigators, a gunman forced his way into the apartment where the Taylor family lives at the Roodner Court Housing Complex off Ingalls Avenue. At the time, family members in the apartment were getting ready for work and school.
Witnesses say once inside, the gunman opened fire as an 8-month-old baby slept in a bedroom. Fortunately, the child was not hurt.
According to family members, their 16-year-old son was wounded when he attempted to keep the gunman out of the apartment.
Family members say the gunman shot at the lock on their front door around midnight before the incident.
Norwalk police are not saying whether the Taylor family was targeted. Meanwhile, police officers are patrolling outside the building.
The Taylor family asked to be moved out of Roodner Court. However, Housing Director Curtis Law says the Taylors have a scheduled hearing Friday for an unrelated incident and can?t be moved at this time.
