Bridgeport has some new royal residents as part of this year's Barnum Festival.
Six students were crowned as king, queen, princes and princesses at Vazzano's Four Seasons in Stratford Sunday.
Dozens of juniors were nominated based on community involvement, extracurricular and academic performance.
Marty Schwartz, the Ringmaster for the event, says every contestant is a winner.
"They're all winners because they are representing their schools throughout the area, but they're looking for people that have great personalities, great dancing skills, great social skills; people that will represent the Barnum Festival very well but anyone tonight will fall into that category"
The festival runs through June and honors the life of P.T Barnum and celebrates the greater Bridgeport community.
