Teens gathered in Norwalk Saturday to play in the ongoing Shoot Hoops, Not Guns tournament.
Yvonne Moore recently buried her 31-year-old son Laray Moore, who was shot to death in Norwalk. She says the event is needed to raise awareness about gun violence. Moore?s friends attended the tournament along with friends of Shaheed Matthews and Tevon Duharte, both of Bridgeport. Matthews was gunned down a year ago in Wentfield Park and Duharte was stabbed to death in June.
A memorial will be held next Sunday at Wentfield Park in memory of Matthews.
