A controversial Wiffle ball field in Greenwich was torn down Friday following a failed last-minute plea to First Selectman Peter Tesei. Police, photographers and players? families gathered to watch their field of dreams turn into a memory.
Teens built the field a few weeks ago, but without the town?s permission. After meeting with First Selectman Tesei, the teens found out the town would be taking the field down. However, the town will be working with the players to build another field.
The Parks and Recreation Department says it is already working on pricing for a new proposed field at Dundee Elementary.
