Three teen boys convicted in deadly robbery of taxi driver in Franklin Township

The incident happened in May of 2023, when Franklin Township police say they responded to report of a shooting in the area of Rose Street and Sydney Place in Somerset, where they found 57-year-old Kofi Addo suffering from a gunshot wound.

Three teen boys have been sentenced to at least four years each in connection with the deadly robbery of a taxi driver in Franklin Township.
The incident happened in May of 2023, when Franklin Township police say they responded to report of a shooting in the area of Rose Street and Sydney Place in Somerset, where they found 57-year-old Kofi Addo suffering from a gunshot wound.
An investigation concluded that three juvenile males, ages 14, 13, and 13, had intended to rob Addo. One of the teens fired a shot that killing Addo as he was operating a taxi. Following the shooting, the boys fled on foot.
The 14-year-old was sentenced to 11 years and one 13-year-old faces eight years in prison for murder and robbery charges. The second 13-year-old was sentenced to four years for robbery charges.
The juveniles could not be prosecuted as adults because they were under the age of 15.
